Peter Jansen
(BE, MIEAust)
Peter is
KASA's Environmental Manager and has over seventeen years of
environmental experience within the private and regulatory sectors of
Western Australia. Peter’s roles over his career have included within
the former WA Department of Environmental Protection’s Audit Branch,
Hamersley Iron, Viceroy’s Bounty Gold Mine, Industrial Development
Branch at ATA Environmental and ENVIRON.
Peter’s
expertise lies in environmental impact assessment and approvals,
development of environmental plans and monitoring programs,
preparation of environmental reports for industry, Environmental
Management Systems and development of environmental training modules
Prior to joining KASA Consulting, Peter was the Environmental
Approvals Manager for the Griffin Group based in Perth and primarily
responsible for managing the environmental approvals process for a
major coal mine expansion in Collie.
Tyrone Smith
Tyrone leads KASA Consulting’s HSE Monitoring and Equipment Supply
Division. He has 20 years experience in the environmental monitoring
field both in the Western Australia and the UK. Tyrone’s experience
includes Business Development Manager for a WA based scientific
equipment supplier, Environmental Consultant at Parsons Brickerhoff
and Director of a private environmental health laboratory in the
United Kingdom where he assisted major organisations with
environmental monitoring including, Virgin, Heathrow Airport, Tate
Modern Gallery, WSPA, Charing Cross Hospital, Kings College London, UK
Ministry of Defense.Kiri Walker (MSc, MIEMM,
CEnv)
Kiri has extensive experience working in the field
of Environmental Management within both private and government
sectors. She is a Chartered Environmentalist, a member of the
Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management and has worked in
the environmental sector in both the UK and Western Australia.
Her qualifications include a MSc in Environmental Management and a
Bachelor degree in Geography. Kiri worked for the Scottish
Environment Protection Agency in the UK as Senior Environmental
Officer, managing projects, coordinating the work of scientists and
regulators and undertaking environmental reporting responsibilities to
Government Ministers. She has successfully prepared
environmental and strategic management plans, undertaken environmental
impact assessments/approvals and developed environmental training
programmes, for government, industry and the private sector.
Kiri is currently assisting KASA’s major clients including Jupiter
Mines Ltd, Lynas Corporation, Mt Weld Mining, Perth Airport, and
Harvey Beef over a range of approvals and reporting requirements.
Cathy Scheib (BSc, MSc)
Cathy is an environmental geochemist who
holds a joint honours primary degree in geology and environmental
chemistry, followed by an Environmental Research MSc. She has over 10
years experience in the field, providing research and training for
government organisations and a variety of other stakeholders. Her
technical experience concerns the chemical and gaseous hazards
associated with the geological landscape, including radon risk
mapping, researching the distribution of potentially harmful elements
in soil and understanding the fate and behaviour of radionuclides in
the environment. Cathy worked for the British Geological Survey,
managing the Geochemical Baseline Survey of the Environment (G-BASE)
project. Since joining the Approvals team at KASA, Cathy has assisted
Jupiter Mines and Mt Weld Mining with environmental reviews and
reporting.
Paul Richards (MA)
Paul is an experienced project manager who has been
involved in multi-faceted projects and has been directly responsible
for all aspects of stakeholder engagement, contractor management and
project delivery. He has worked across a range of projects and
industry sectors and has experience establishing and implementing
systems and processes to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Since joining KASA, Paul has
developed group-wide environmental management processes for (BHPB
Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) developed operational standards for Phu Bia
Mining, developed environmental management plans and programmes and
has extensive experience conducting internal audits for a range of
clients. Paul is a qualified environmental and OHS auditor.
Jessica Hill (BA, M.Env.St)
Jessica has worked as an Environmental Practitioner for more than 3
years gaining experience in environmental management, consulting and
geographic information systems (GIS). Her qualifications include a
Masters of Environmental Studies and a Bachelor in Environmental
Studies. Jessica has gained significant experience in environmental
approvals, environmental management systems (EMS) and management
projects within the mining industry. Recent projects include the
development of EMS Plans, environmental management plans, mining
proposals, works approvals, annual environmental reports, GIS
databases and associated procedures, water quality data analysis,
National Pollutant Inventory reporting and National Greenhouse
Emissions reporting. Jessica is currently assisting KASA’s clients
including Lynas Corporation, BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance, Western
Power and Harvey Beef with a variety of reporting requirements.
