As the Managing Director of KASA Consulting Nick has built a dynamic and respected team that consistently provide innovative and pragmatic HSE solutions to numerous commercial and government clients. Nick has 25 years’ experience in the field of Environmental, OHS and Quality Management both within Australia and internationally; including Indonesia, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam and the UK. He has successfully delivered projects for numerous resources, government and industrial clients; including, Resolute Mining, South 32 (Worsley Alumina, GEMCO and TEMCO); BHP Iron Ore; BMA Coal; Rio Tinto Gove Operations; PanAust, Newcrest, Lynas Corporation, The Water Corporation, Western Power, Chevron Texaco and Yancoal.
Nick is a Registered Lead Environmental, Health and Safety and Quality Management Auditor with Exemplar Global (#13656) and is a registered Lead Cyanide Code Auditor. He is an active member of the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies (AMEC) Environment and Water; and Health and Safety Committees and was formerly Western Australian ISO 14001 Program Manager with SAI Global.
Peter joined KASA Consulting in 2010 and is an Associate Director at KASA Consulting. Peter established and leads the company’s Environmental Approvals Division as well as the Contaminated Land Group comprising of personnel with varied and extensive experience in their respective fields.
Peter’s 20 years of environmental experience is drawn from senior roles with the private and regulatory sectors of Western Australia. Peter’s area of expertise lies in the provision of strategic environmental advice for KASA’s mining and industrial client base, conduct of environmental impact assessments under State and federal auspices, permitting and approvals, compliance auditing, development and review of environmental plans and monitoring programs, preparation of annual compliance reports, NPI and NGERS, EMS development and contract specifications.
Peter’s roles over his career have been within the former WA Department of Environmental Protection’s Environmental Impact Assessment and Audit Branches as well as in the Department’s Pilbara regional offices, Rio Tinto/Hamersley Iron, Viceroy’s Bounty Gold Mine, The Griffin Group and selected consultancies prior to KASA.
Peter has managed projects of varying scales, issues and impacts, with combined asset values of over AUD $1 Billion. Peter maintains a firm commitment to all of his clients to deliver the highest level of support in a timely, practical and cost effective manner, whilst still ensuring all clients receive a personalised service from Peter and all of the Project team from KASA Consulting.
Paul is an experienced project manager who has been involved in multi-faceted projects and has been directly responsible for all aspects of stakeholder engagement, contractor management and project delivery. He has worked across a range of projects and industry sectors and has experience establishing and implementing systems and processes to ensure compliance with industry standards. Since joining KASA, Paul has developed group-wide environmental management processes for (BHPB Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) developed operational standards for Phu Bia Mining, developed environmental management plans and programmes and has extensive experience conducting internal audits for a range of clients. Paul is a qualified environmental and OHS auditor.
Jessica has worked as an Environmental Practitioner for over 5 years, with experience in the public and private sectors. Her qualifications include a Masters of Environmental Studies and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Environmental Studies. Jessica has significant experience in quality assurance, environmental approvals and permitting under Part V of the Australian Commonwealth Environmental Protection Act 1986, environmental management systems, environmental management plans, annual environmental reporting, national pollutant inventory (NPI) reporting, national greenhouse and energy reporting (NGERs), water quality analysis and geographic information systems (GIS). Her recent project experience includes the development of mining proposals, WAA support documents, annual environmental reports, environmental management system plans, environmental management plans, Department of Environment Regulation prescribed premises licence and registration applications, NPI and NGERs reporting, water quality data management and analysis, EPBC Referrals, Section 45C applications, and GIS databases and associated procedures. Jessica is currently assisting KASA’s clients including Harvey Industries Group Pty Ltd, Griffin Coal Mining Company, Lynas Corporation Limited, Sinosteel Midwest Corporation Limited, Northern Minerals and Bluewaters Power. Jessica is committed to efficiently providing high quality, professional deliverables to clients.
Lisa is KASA’s Financial Controller, and is responsible for the integrity of company financial information, ensuring preparation and delivery of statutory reporting; relevant review and analysis of operating results in relation to costs, budget and performances to management. Previously Lisa has worked as Claims Team Leader for NRMA Insurance, Claims Consultant at NCUIS and Western QBE, Assistant to the General Manager of a materials handling company where she provided training, administrative and accounting support. Lisa’s experience has given her the tools to provide thorough yet friendly service, both internally and externally. Lisa has been part of the Kasa team since 2006.
