Peter joined KASA Consulting in 2010 and established the company’s Environmental Approvals Division and Contaminated Land Group comprising of personnel with varied and extensive experience in their respective fields. As the Managing Director of KASA Consulting, Peter’s 30+ years of environmental experience is drawn from senior roles with the private and regulatory sectors of Western Australia. Peter maintains a working relationship with his current clients in the mining and production industry. Consultancy support ranges from regulatory reporting including NGERS and NPI, environmental approvals (Part IV and V of the WA Environmental Protection Act 1986), mining proposals, mine closure, monitoring programs, management plans, auditing, and strategic assessments. Peter’s area of expertise lies in the provision of strategic environmental advice for KASA's mining and industrial client base, conduct of risk based environmental impact assessments under State and Federal auspices, permitting and approvals, strategic assessments, compliance auditing, development and review of environmental plans and monitoring programs, preparation of statutory compliance reports, NPI and NGERS, EMS development and contract specifications.
Peter’s career experience includes roles within the former WA Department of Environmental Protection’s Environmental Impact Assessment and Audit Branches as well as in the Department’s Pilbara regional office, Rio Tinto / Hamersley Iron, the Griffin Group, and specialist environmental consultancies, prior to joining KASA. Peter has managed projects of varying scales, issues, and impacts, with combined asset values of over AUD $10 Billion. Peter maintains a firm commitment to all his clients to deliver the highest level of support in a timely, pragmatic, and cost-effective manner, whilst still ensuring all clients receive a personalised service from Peter and all the project team from KASA.
Nick has over 30 years Australian and international experience in the field of environmental, safety and quality management and has successfully delivered projects for a wide variety of industry leaders across the mining sector, as well as industrial, manufacturing and government clients. Nick has been a Registered Lead Environmental and Quality Auditor since 1997 and has been a Lead OHS Auditor since 2008 and an active member of the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies’ (AMEC) Health and Safety, and Environment and Water Committees for over 10 years.
Nick established KASA Consulting in 1999 and since then has provided ongoing HSEQ auditing and consultancy services to a variety of leading resource industry clients throughout Australia and internationally (Europe, Asia, Africa); including Worsley Alumina, South 32 TEMCO and GEMCO, BHP Billiton, BMA, Rio Tinto, Alcoa, WA Water Corporation, PanAust, Chevron Texaco, Woodside and Newmont Golden Grove Operations.
Prior to establishing KASA Nick was the ISO14001 EMS Program Manager for SAI Global (part of the Standards Australia Group) in Western Australia.
Paul is an experienced project manager who has been involved in multi-faceted projects and has been directly responsible for all aspects of stakeholder engagement, contractor management and project delivery. He has worked across a range of projects and industry sectors and has experience establishing and implementing systems and processes to ensure compliance with industry standards. Since joining KASA, Paul has developed group-wide environmental management processes for (BHPB Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) developed operational standards for Phu Bia Mining, developed environmental management plans and programmes and has extensive experience conducting internal audits for a range of clients. Paul is a qualified environmental and OHS auditor.
Liz has worked in the engineering services, mining and oil and gas industries for 15 years. She is a trained Lead Auditor in Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 19011:2018), and has over 10 years of dedicated experience as a technical writer. Liz has assisted in the development of project documentation of varying complexity for a broad range of audiences and has been involved in all aspects of document lifecycle from scoping through to submission. Liz joined KASA in 2020 and has assisted KASA’s clients including Lynas Rare Earths, Griffin Coal Mining Company, Bluewaters Power, Covalent Lithium and Albemarle Lithium. Her recent project experience includes the development of Section 38 referral documentation, Environmental Review Documents (ERDs), Works Approval applications, Mining Proposals, Environmental Management Plans and Clearing Permits. Liz also has a strong background in change management and QA/QC, and is committed to providing high quality, professional deliverables to clients.
Lisa is KASA’s Financial Controller, and is responsible for the integrity of company financial information, ensuring preparation and delivery of statutory reporting; relevant review and analysis of operating results in relation to costs, budget and performances to management. Previously Lisa has worked as Claims Team Leader for NRMA Insurance, Claims Consultant at NCUIS and Western QBE, Assistant to the General Manager of a materials handling company where she provided training, administrative and accounting support. Lisa’s experience has given her the tools to provide thorough yet friendly service, both internally and externally. Lisa has been part of the Kasa team since 2006.
